About Bill
Bill is an attorney at Yost and Robertson PLC. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he is a member of the Tennessee, Nashville and Williamson County Bar Associations and currently resides in Franklin, TN. Bill has been practicing law in Tennessee for over 40 years after completing his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1973.
Prior to attending law school, Bill served as a Squad Leader in the U.S. Army with the First Cavalry Division (Air Mobile) in the 2nd Battalion of the 8th Cavalry during Vietnam. During his service, he received the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Stars with “V”, Army Commendation Medal with “V”, and the Air Medal.
Bill started his legal career as an Associate with Joe Saperstein and Associates in Nashville, TN before becoming a Partner at Petersen, Buerger and Yost in Franklin where he was a member from 1975-1986. For the past 35 years, he has served as the Delinquent Tax Attorney for Williamson County and worked to grow Yost and Robertson PLC.
While property tax is his primary area of expertise, Bill offers a wealth of experience in a range of other practice areas such as Real Estate, Tax, Wills, and Probate.
Passionate about land preservation and the legacy of his alma mater, Bill serves as the Director of the Philander Chase Corporation. Its mission is to preserve and maintain the farmland, open spaces, scenic views, and characteristic landscapes surrounding Kenyon College and Gambier, Ohio.
